About payday loan Finder
Below are some commonly asked questions about Payday-LoanFinder.com

How does payday loan Finder find loans?
I find loans by researching a variety of information on the payday loan sites I recommend. See the topics below for explanations of each payday loan site profile I collect.

What is the Better Business Bureau Rating (BBB Rating)?
The BBB has a variety of rating methods they use to rate a site. In some states, a simple grading system is used (A+ B- etc.). In other states, the company profile is given a "satisfactory" rating or an "unsatisfactory" rating.

A "satisfactory" rating means the site has had few or no complaints and they've resolved all of them to the customers' satisfaction.

An "unsatisfactory" rating means the site has received a few complaints and has not resolved them.

If a site has no BBB record, this could mean one of two things:
  • It could mean the site's service has been satisfactory and nobody has had the need to report them to the BBB
  • Or, it could mean the site is still relatively new and untested.
If the payday loan site is listed as a "BBB Member," this means the site has voluntarily registered with the BBB and has agreed to abide by all of their standards and is in good standing with the BBB.

What is Google PR?
This is the Page Rank Google gives to every site on the web. Google Page Rank (PR) ranges from 0-10. 0 is the lowest score, and 10 is the best score. Most sites that have a 3-6 PR are considered quality sites by Google's standards. Google doesn't rank the site according to how well the company does their business, but only on things like the amount of rich content, or a long life on the web, or lots of other sites linking to them.

You shouldn't take the Google PR to be the final say on whether a site is "good" or "bad". Google PR is simply a tool that can help to indicate if a site is brand-new and potentially worthless, or if the site has been around a long time; long enough for Google to give it a good rating.

What is Alexa Ranking?
Alexa is a site that records the traffic of every site on the web. It's a powerful site that gives a traffic ranking to every site on the web. For instance, Yahoo.com is currently the #1 site on all of the web. It's the site that gets more traffic than anyone else. So, if a site is around #236,589, that's still not too bad. But if a site is around, let's say #10,593,610, that's not as good.

Like Google PR, Alexa rankings are not the final word on whether a site is good or bad, it's simply an indicator as to how many people are actually using a particular site.

What is VeriSign Security?
VeriSign is a private company that verifies if a site is using a secure method to transmit data. Many sites can still be secure but won't display the VeriSign logo. That's ok. But if you see the VeriSign logo, and you can click on it and verify that the site is indeed secure, then you can rest assured that your personal information is being transmitted securely across the internet.

What is Hacker Safe?
This is another verification tool created by McAfee that indicates whether a site is currently safe from hackers. Like the VeriSign logo, Hacker Safe isn't a requirement for sites, but it gives a little more piece of mind that your personal data isn't been captured by hackers.

What is Thawte Security?
This is like VeriSign. They certify that the website is protected by secure data encryption so you can be sure your personal data is being safely transmitted over the internet.

What is (SSL) Security Encryption?
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), are cryptographic protocols that provide secure communications on the Internet for such things as web browsing, e-mail, Internet faxing, instant messaging and other data transfers. This means that any personal or sensitive information you supply to your payday loan lender is transmitted securely, which prevents hackers from stealing your information. Anytime you're on a page that starts with the URL: https (as opposed to just plain http), you know that page is using an SSL certificate.

What is Site Live Since, or Company Live Since?
This is an indication of how long the site has been around. I get these dates either from archive.org, from BBB records, and from whois records. These dates are a reasonable date when the site became functional or when the company officially formed. Keep in mind that websites can change hands between many companies, but generally people hang onto high-traffic payday loan sites for a long time. So, if the date is old, that's a good sign. It indicates that the site has been around for a long time doing business.
